A few years back, at the conclusion of a spiritual direction session, my spiritual director asked if she could end our session with a blessing. Without hesitation, I said yes. Honestly, I will never pass up a blessing! If you enjoy receiving a blessing, I invite you to read more …
The blessing she read was lovely, and she told me it came from a group of Dominican Sisters located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Later, I explored their website and learned that anyone can sign up to receive a daily email blessing from them. For me, these brief messages have often felt like BIG BLESSINGS.
On Friday, October 23rd, the following blessing felt especially relevant since many people with whom I’ve met recently have expressed feelings of helplessness, confusion, insecurity, discouragement, exhaustion, and/or anxiety.
If you or someone you know falls into any of those categories, I hope you are blessed BIG by this blessing:
“May God make you holy when you feel numb and immobile, paralyzed by fear or anxiety, anesthetized by compulsion or trauma. May God lift you up and out of your dead places with loving arms and breathe into you hope and life beyond measure. Held by the hand of God, may you see your life in a new way and with new possibilities - with the eyes of the Creator who sees the whole of you and loves it unconditionally. May the God of Vitality bless you.” --Maxine Shonk, OP
Blessings on your journey, dear reader friend,
