Joys in the Month of June

"In early June the world of leaf and blade and flowers explodes..."

— John Steinbeck

June is a busy month in our family with many birthdays and other joy-filled activities. My husband and I began the month by spending several hours on the first day of June at the beautiful Manito Park in Spokane, Washington. I think you’ll enjoy a medley of Ron’s photos taken during our little excursion that showcase God’s creation …

We were greeted by these magnificent bronze swans at Manito’s reflection pool.

To me, irises are like the royalty of a springtime garden. I imagine the deep purple bearded iris is the king.

"It is the month of June, The month of leaves and roses, When pleasant sights salute the eyes, And pleasant scents the noses."

Nathaniel Parker Willis

Manito’s Rose Garden provides many feasts for the eyes as well as several roses which smell wonderful.

Other springtime blooms were plentiful and delightful.

Blessings on your journey through the month of June,
