Enjoy God’s Unspeakable Summertime Generosity

Last week I wrote a post about the importance of “stewardship.” I find myself in a season when I need to be a good steward of my time because of a variety of projects and commitments. Therefore, I’ve decided my next few blog posts will simply include a prayer treasure that has been meaningful to me as well as some of Ron’s summertime photographs. Today’s prayer comes from Evelyn Underhill’s Prayer Book.  I hope you will enjoy these gems!

Summer’s Unspeakable Generosity!

What shall we say, O God, of Your unspeakable generosity? When we flee from You, You recall us. When we return to You, You receive us. When we waver, You uphold us. Negligent. You stir us anew. You arm us in the battle,  yet crown us when we triumph. When we repent, You receive us, and do not remember our sin. For all this, how shall we suffice to praise You? We give You thanks for the abundance of Your goodness, begging that You will ever increase in us Your grace, and that which You have increased will preserve.

St. Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274)
