Celebrating Generations

Today is my husband Ron’s birthday. Late last month, when out-of-area family visited, we took the opportunity to celebrate Ron’s special day early along with grandson Reeve, whose birthday also falls in September, and great grandson Baker who was born in October. In today’s post, I share a few memories of that special family time …

Three generations of birthday boys!

Firstborn grandchild, Sydney, with our first great grandchild, along with our two younger grandkids, Emalynn and Reeve.

I have purchased each of our grandkids a soft baby doll for her or his first birthday and decided to carry on this tradition with our great grandbaby. Baker liked his “baby.”

I am so grateful for the gift of generations of family and for special opportunities we are given to celebrate those we love.

God of generations,

Speak over me today the unending kindness of your love.

Free me from my hurried heartaches.

Deliver me from my anxious thoughts.

Be with me in the wondrous ordinary.

Amen

(Lectio 365 Prayer of Approach 8/22/2025)

Happy birthday, Ron, and blessings to each reader and all those you love!
